A screenplay about Rexford's life and music has been written by top Hollywood Screen Play writer Craig Clyde.
"This is a story that goes well beyond most people's idea of what is truly believable. I have been a screenplay writer for over 30 years and such a treatise has never crossed my desk. Even as a piece of fiction I found it highly implausible and it took much documentary evidence to convince me. Reading the diaries of Rexford's thrilling 33 year odyssey from cook to composer had the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. Without musical knowledge, facilities or money he has since, composed, produced and paid for, the vast portfolio of magnificent scores you can hear in the music section. And this is only a taster! The Conductor of The London Philharmonia Orchestra said in the 'Rexford Testimonials.' "It would be like me writing a book on brain surgery without knowledge of the brain!" Rexford's trials from 'roughing- it-on-the-streets of Shepherd's Bush in London UK' to 'risking-his-life in the African Bush, amongst many others, took the courage of a Genghis Khan. And No, "The God's wern't Crazy" when a politcal storm in Africa saw him pitted against the emenies of the State. All of this was powerfully propelled by a surreal dream he had on the night of his son's tragic death. It has taken over five years of scripts flying back and forth across the Atlantic ether, followed by 2 years of re-writes by Rexford himself to distill the journey into one screenplay. Normally I would want to filmanise (if there is such a word) any story. However, in Rexford's case here was a film in itself. Scene by dramatic scene, it was ready made. Even J.K. Rowling would have been very hard pressed to write a Harry Potter novel fanatsical enough to rival Rexford's "dream-to-reality" story. Check out his narration in the video section.
